Michael Bannon

Michael Bannon is one of Europe’s top teaching professionals and is the current coach of 4 times major winning golf star Rory McIlroy whom he has coached from the age of eight years old.
Michael has won European Coach of the Year as recently as 2011.

He has taught many successful elite amateurs and many of the region’s top professionals and in the past worked for 10 years with the GUI Ulster Branch. Golf is a passion for Michael and he takes as much satisfaction from teaching beginners as he does teaching top players rooting his beliefs in sound basics and simplicity of the swing.

As a player himself Michael has won over 20 events on the Irish Region Tour and numerous top ten finishes. In 1997 at Powerscourt in the Irish Professional Championships Michael was beaten in a playoff by Padraig Harrington. Today Michael focuses on teaching golfers of all abilities and expectations and helping them to move their game onto another level and get more enjoyment out of their golf.

A valued member of the PGA and a British Pro since 1981, he has coached many successful elite amateur and Pro Golfers, most notably World No.2 and US Open Winner, Rory McIlroy.
Michael himself,  is the winner of many PGA events and has played in numerous European Tour Events.

Geoff Loughrey

Geoff Loughrey is a PGA Professional with an excellent reputation for high level golf coaching. Geoff is not only a fine player himself but has a fine CV having learnt from some of the World’s best coaches.
Geoff and his team have a lot of experience when it comes to training an individual in the art of golf.

Geoff joined the British P.G.A. and consequently worked under the guidance of Michael Bannon, achieving outstanding results in final examinations at the Belfry, England. He represented Ireland’s National P.G.A. team on four occasions Internationally. A winner of many P.G.A. events in Ireland, Geoff has also played  in European Tour events including the P.G.A. Championship at Wentworth, England.

Geoff now concentrates his efforts on the coaching of top amateur and professional golfers on a full time basis including Irish Internationals such as Michael Hoey who became British Amateur Champion in 2001. Michael Hoey now plays on the European Tour and has won four Challenge Tour Events and two European Tour Events.
